Ecoat is a biosourced binder designer & manufacturer addressing the growing need for sustainable and ecofriendly alternatives. Those bio-based and water-based binders aim at replacing petro-based and solvent-based binders in the coatings industry. They are manufactured in France on the biggest French chemical cluster OSIRIS and are available globally. Once formulated, they enable to reach all critical performances for architectural, wood and metal coatings applications.
Furthermore they contain less VOCs (Volatil Organic Compound) and a much lower carbon footprint than petro-based binders. Within a Craddle to customer’s Gate approach, they enable to save up to 1.7kg of CO2eq by kilogram of petro-based product replaced. As a consequence, they help customers to meet GHG reduction targets, while developing safer coatings compliant with VOC regulation. Those products are also well compatible with existing technologies (including acrylics), meaning that customers can make an easy and quick move towards sustainability by using it in blend in their existing formulations.
By the next 5 years, the deployment of Ecoat’s solutions will lead to estimated CO2 emissions savings of 50’000t and contribute to the green transition and increased resilience of the EU Chemical Industry
