The new generation of Textile Chemicals REVECOL (REcycled VEgetable Cooking OiL) is a breakthrough innovation, 100% Made in Italy, that upcycles a critical waste materials, such as vegetable exhausted cooking oil, into a complete, safe, certified and high performing new generation line of Chemical Auxiliaries for the whole textile industry.

The REVECOL® by ERCA TCS range now includes 18 new generation chemical auxiliaries, with unique characteristics: circular DNA, certification, safety, high performance, and applicability on any type of textile fiber, whether virgin or recycled. For all of them, REVECOL® has obtained the most important certifications: ZDHC Chemical Gateway, bluesign® and GOTS. In addition, in 2019, ERCA became the first chemical company in the world to obtain the Global Recycled Standard Certificate of Compliance ( GRS & RCS). Levelling agents based on this technology were included in the EUROPEAN Union IPPC as a BEST Available Technique for textile industry.

We are also preparing, where possible, the Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) certifications. This Product Carbon Footprint analysis measures the environmental impact in terms of the overall global warming potential (GWP) of REVECOL® by ERCA Textile Chemical Solutions products manufactured in Italy along their life cycle from Cradle -to-Gate performed by bluesign® ACADEMY. Comparing this PCF with the standard products the results show that we can reduce the CO2 emission of a product within 72 % in one case and 41 % in the other case.

R&D work continues in order to develop and expand our REVECOL®’s family. One of our goals is to synthesise as many products as possible from recycled feedstock that will replace traditional raw material, significantly reducing CO2 emissions and environmental impact.

To date about 20% of sales ( by volume) are REVECOL®, our goal is to rise to 40-45% within the next 3 years and reach 60-70% within the next 5/7 years.
