The aim is to utilize residues from (primarily local) pulp production from wood and biorefineries as a raw material for the development of chemical products for industrial water management. To this end, there is an international partnership with an academic institute specializing in the use and conversion of renewable raw materials . The biomaterials to be investigated will mainly be produced in Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia within a radius of approx. 150 km from the company Zschimmer & Schwarz Mohsdorf in Burgstädt (Germany/Saxony).

Low-energy biotechnological processes for the targeted provision of educts from the biopolymers (enzymatic cleavage) are also being tested. By implementing products based on renewable raw materials in the portfolio, we are reducing the proportion of petrochemical products. The new products should contain as much carbon as possible (at least 70%) from renewable sources, with the commercialization of the first products planned for 2030.
