The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona offers a comprehensive course that delves into Africa’s rich cultural heritage, covering everything from diverse rock art sites and early civilizations to ancient hominid fossils. Supported by the German Foreign Office and developed by the German Archaeological Institute in collaboration with several universities, the course explores modern archaeological methods, researcher case studies, and the role of local communities in preserving cultural heritage. Open to everyone with no prior experience required, participants will gain a broad understanding of African archaeology and heritage by learning from global experts. The course materials are free to access, with an optional certificate available for USD 49.
