EcoPassenger is an online tool developed by the International Union of Railways (UIC) to compare the environmental impacts of different modes of passenger transport, including planes, cars, and trains. It calculates energy consumption, CO2 emissions, and other pollutants using a “well to wheel” approach, which considers the entire energy chain from production to consumption. The tool aims to raise awareness about the environmental consequences of travel choices and support sustainable decision-making.
