The European Commission proposed a targeted amendment to the Waste Framework Directive through Procedure 2022/0396/COD in July 2023. With the goal of minimising its impact on the environment, this plan concentrates on packaging and packaging waste. In particular, increasing recyclability, minimising overly complex packaging, and promoting circular and sustainable behaviours are the objectives.
