The European Commission introduced this directive as a proposal which aims to enhance accessibility and support for individuals with disabilities within the European Union. It establishes the framework for two essential cards: European Disability Card which serves as a proof or recognized disability status and provides access to specific services based on disability, and European Parking Card which serves as a proof of the recognized right to parking conditions and facilities reserved for persons with disabilities.
