The European Parliament and the Council issued Regulation (EU) No 692/2011 on July 6, 2011. This regulation, applicable across the European Economic Area (EEA), sets out a unified framework for the development, production, and dissemination of European tourism statistics. It requires Member States to collect and standardize tourism data to provide detailed insights into tourism supply and demand. This initiative is essential for informing policy-making, boosting the competitiveness of the tourism sector, and addressing seasonal variations.
