The JobDirect for NEET Youth within the ALMA Initiative project aimed to support the social and professional integration of disadvantaged NEET youth from Romania through international mobility experiences in Italy. Led by ADV Romania, in partnership with CGM Consortium, INFOR ELEA, and 10 national partners, and funded by the European Union through the Social Innovation+ Initiative, the project provided structured work-related experiences, career mentoring, and practical skill development for 32 young participants.
The project was implemented through a structured three-phase approach:
- pre-mobility preparation
- on-site work-related experiences
- and post-mobility support.
This comprehensive methodology ensured that participants were not only well-prepared to engage in their host environments, but also meaningfully supported in their transition toward employment or further education upon return.
This final report presents the findings of an in-depth evaluation conducted by ENSIE, comparing outcomes between work-related experiences hosted in social enterprises (WISEs) in Milan and traditional companies in Turin. Using a combination of interviews, surveys, and focus groups, the analysis captures how different hosting environments influenced participants’ career trajectories, confidence, and employability.
With a success rate of 93.75% in employment, education, or training after mobility, the results demonstrate the transformative potential of transnational mobility for youth inclusion. The report provides valuable insights, best practices, and policy recommendations for scaling up and sustaining such initiatives across Europe.
