The European Commission’s Omnibus IV package, sets out to simplify the Single Market’s regulatory landscape. It aims to cut red tape, reduce administrative burdens for companies, and maintain high standards for consumers and the environment.
Rather than reform one policy at a time, Omnibus IV makes concerted changes across a range of legislation making it quicker and simpler for businesses to operate, invest, and serve customers across national borders. The package is expected to save companies an estimated €400 million per year, adding to savings already made under previous efforts.
Key insights
- The package includes a regulation proposal on battery due diligence, enhancing clarity and compliance for operators handling batteries.
- It is part of a wider Single Market simplification drive designed to support business resilience and growth.
By lowering bureaucratic barriers, Omnibus IV supports cross-border collaboration, community-based Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), and social innovation.
