AUTEX is a global network that facilitates the advancement of knowledge in textiles by promoting collaboration between Higher Education Institutions (HEIs), the business sector, and the public sector – with a particular focus on environmental and technological challenges.

The AUTEX World Conference and the AUTEX Research Journal represent two key outputs  by the association. The conference promotes the transfer of research results and emerging trends in topics such as recycled fibres, nanotechnologies, and smart technologies. The Journal is aimed at disseminating scientific knowledge to specialised audiences.

AUTEX collaborates with public institutions to support the development of policies targeted at promoting a greener textile industry. It also collaborates with companies to implement innovative technologies. In addition, it promotes the European Masters in Textile Engineering (WE-TEAM) – a two-year Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree (EMJMD) Programme designed to educate and empower the next generation of textile engineers.
