According to UN Tourism, the organisation is strengthening its collaboration with Austria to advance sustainable tourism, statistics, and development. Austria plays a significant role in advancing sustainable tourism, with six of its villages being part of UN Tourism's Best Tourism Villages Programme, and the Tyrol region recently joining the International Network of Sustainable Tourism Observatories (INSTO). Additionally, Austria co-chairs the Committee on Statistics and ranks 10th globally in international tourist arrivals, and 19th in international tourism receipts, according to the latest UN Tourism data.
