Eurostar, the cross-channel rail operator, is planning to expand its services between London and mainland Europe. To achieve this, the company aims to increase annual passenger numbers from 18.6 million in 2023 to 30 million by 2030. As part of this effort, Eurostar will be ordering 50 new trains, which would replace the existing fleet and contribute to a 30% overall increase in train capacity. The CEO, Gwendoline Cazenave, mentioned that with the new fleet, they will explore new European routes, although specific details are expected to be announced next year.
