According to Agenzia ANSA’s news on October 11, 2024, five Italian cities — Bologna, Bergamo, Milan, Prato, and Turin — have been awarded the EU label for smart and climate-neutral cities. This recognition, part of the Horizon Europe research program, highlights their plans to achieve climate neutrality by 2030 and aims to facilitate access to public and private funding. The official ceremony took place on October 22 at the European Parliament in Strasbourg. This brings the total number of cities with this label to 53 across Europe (The original piece available only in Italian).
