On 23 January 2025, the International Committee of Tourism Film Festivals (CIFFT) and the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote sustainable practices in the tourism and advertising sectors. This agreement, announced at FITUR 2025 in Madrid, formalises a shared commitment to aligning tourism promotion with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), showcasing the organisations' dedication to responsible tourism and using audiovisual storytelling to inspire global change.
