According to the Portugal Resident article, published on December 15, 2024, the Portuguese Council of Ministers has approved a "green" package of measures aimed at enhancing public transport. Key initiatives include a €20 monthly rail pass for most rail journeys, free travel for individuals under 23, and a €4,000 incentive for scrapping petrol or diesel cars to purchase electric vehicles. Additionally, the government plans to establish a Climate Agency and update the National Energy and Climate Plan 2030. These measures are part of a broader effort to improve mobility and reduce energy costs.
