At the Annual Conference of the Energy Cities Romania Association (OER) held in Brașov on 11 March 2025, local and regional authorities came together to explore collaborative strategies for sustainable energy use. The event highlighted the potential of community-led approaches in addressing the challenges of climate neutrality.
A key focus was placed on the role of renewable energy communities and community mobility cooperatives in enabling citizen participation and decentralised solutions. Through an interactive covenant of mayors workshop, participants examined how public procurement, local partnerships, and grassroots engagement can support clean energy transitions and inclusive urban mobility.
