According to Publituris, Laurel—an organisation that promotes Portuguese premium brands—has introduced a strategic framework for quality tourism in Portugal. Developed in collaboration with industry professionals and experts in the luxury sector, the document outlines a proposed shift in tourism policy. It emphasises prioritising quality, profitability, and sustainability over visitor volume, with a focus on high-value segments such as luxury and premium cultural tourism. The strategy includes recommendations for decentralising tourist flows, enhancing digital infrastructure, and aligning tourism development with both visitor expectations and the interests of local communities.
