According to Toerisme Vlaanderen, the number of accommodations in Flanders has been steadily increasing from April 2017 to July 2024, without any declines during this period. As of July 2024, there are 29.4 thousand accommodations available, which is a 10.0% increase from July 2023 and a significant 52.0% rise from the pre-pandemic level in July 2019. This growth highlights the sector’s resilience and impressive expansion. The most rapid growth since July 2019 was seen in site-related accommodations, which surged by 215.1%, from 53 to 167 in July 2024. In contrast, hotels experienced a moderate growth of 9.0%, while hostels saw a minimal increase of 2.6%, with notable volatility.
