Grand Tour of Catalonia: Sustainable, responsible and regenerative tourism is one of the most important aspects of this project, which aims to highlight the discovery of local life and locally sourced products, as well as to incentivise respect for the environment with proposals to cover the route with the lowest possible carbon footprint.
Based on an analysis of specific socio-demographic data and information on aspects such as, for example, online behaviour, we have drawn up a general profile of the Grand Tour of Catalonia visitor. A tourist who travels and discovers a territory along a route using a vehicle that is a symbol of freedom. This tourist appreciates the scenery: the car journey is part of the experience. Driving is part of the journey and enjoying the route, which is why the roads you travel on and the landscape you pass through are important. Using greener vehicles and public transport will also be encouraged.
The Grand Tour of Catalonia aims therefore at deploying a tour which is 100% accessible with electric car and/or collective mobility, including the “last mile”.
Timeline: The Grand Tour of Catalonia will be 100% passable by electric vehicle (with distances of less than 30 kilometers between fast charging points) before 2027.
Target: Forecast of annual users of the sustainable mobility of the Grand Tour of Catalonia: 2 000.
