ACTION: To promote the involvement of the tourism companies and SMEs in the EUROPARC Programme “Charter of Sustainable Tourism in Protected Areas - ECST”, in different ways:
- active participation at the Forum of stakeholders of the ECST European Protected Areas (see above Topic 5)
- adhesion at the step 2nd "become a Sustainable ECST partner" https://www.europarc.org/sustainable-tourism/sustainable-business-partners/
- adhesion at the step 3rd "become a Sustainable ECST Tour Operator" https://www.europarc.org/sustainable-tourism/sustainable-tour-operators/
- ECST Stars Award .With the biannual STAR Awards, EUROPARC seeks to celebrate, champion and acknowledge the effort and investments made by tourism businesses to be more sustainable and help to protect their natural and cultural heritage. https://www.europarc.org/sustainable-tourism/awards/star-awards/
OUTPUT:
- In 100 ECST European Protected Areas, tourism companies and SMEs are involved in the Forum by 2026
- In 50 ECST European Protected Areas, there are tourism companies and SMEs that adhere at the step 2nd (become a Sustainable ECST Partner) by 2026
- At least 10 European tour operators adhere at the step 3rd (become a Sustainable Tourism Operator) of the ECST by 2026
- The ECST Stars Competition is organized each 2 years and the Award ceremony is organised at the European Parliament in Brussels.
