The FU-TOURISM project - Future-Ready Business Support Ecosystem for Tourism SME Transition to Green and digital Resilience - is conceptually and methodologically based on fostering the green transition of tourism enterprises and SMEs.

By EMBEDDING and UP-SCALING sustainable and digital practices into business, the Project aims to integrate sustainability and digitalization of tourism, making it a self-sustaining component of innovation processes in the tourism sectors and a crucial component of value generation.

Although all the activities of the project are aligned with this approach, the following actions related to the Ecological Transition stand out in particular:

• Organization of a policy workshop every six months in each target country (Croatia, Belgium, Spain, Greece, Poland, Austria) with local stakeholders to transfer knowledge and develop local action plans for the green transition of tourism in each country. (From October 2024 to September 2026).

• Develop a training program for organizations supporting the green transition of the tourism industry. (Second half of 2026).

These activities will lead to the main measurable outcomes:

• A recommendation paper on how to promote the green transition of the tourism sector, which can be used by the tourism ecosystems that are part of the consortium. It will take place between May and September 2026. Publication may take approximately 2 months from submission to the project advisor.

• Increase the capacity of at least 144 SMEs participating and provide funding and expertise to 102 SME projects aiming to transform their tourism practices into green transition through two programs:

- FU-TOURISM ACCELERATION PROGRAMME: 60 SMEs - 10 per country. Selected participants will receive financial support of 20,000 euros.
- FU-TOURISM EXPANSION PROGRAMME: 42 SMEs - 6 per country. The selected consortium will receive a financial support of 30,000 euros.
