The Tourism Strategy East Belgium 2040 – One Vision, published by the Ministry of the German-speaking Community of Belgium in 2025, outlines a long-term vision for tourism in East Belgium. It aims to strengthen the region’s economy, preserve its natural and cultural heritage, and enhance quality of life through sustainable and innovative tourism development.
The strategy is built around five key action areas: sustainability, digitalisation, quality, networking, and positioning. Measures include expanding eco-friendly mobility, improving digital services and infrastructure, enhancing accommodation quality, fostering collaboration among stakeholders, and promoting East Belgium as a leading destination for nature and active tourism.
