The European Commission announced assistance for ten pilot projects on January 31, 2023, with the goal of improving cross-border train services throughout the EU. These initiatives entail working together with different national rail operators and authorities to build new train links or upgrade current ones to make them more economical, faster, and frequent. The programme, which is a component of the Connecting Europe agenda, covers connections including Amsterdam-Barcelona and Stockholm-Copenhagen-Berlin. This initiative is essential because it lowers carbon emissions and encourages effective and sustainable transportation.
