The European Commission has unveiled a series of initiatives aimed at mitigating labour shortages across Europe by making the EU more attractive to international talent. Central to this effort is the creation of an EU Talent Pool, designed to connect EU employers with jobseekers from non-EU countries. This initiative is part of the broader Skills and Talent Mobility package, which also includes measures to streamline the recognition of qualifications and enhance student and labour mobility.
It aims to address skill shortages by facilitating the recruitment of non-EU nationals for in-demand occupations within the EU. It seeks to simplify and accelerate international recruitment processes, broaden access to a diverse range of skills, and provide essential information on recruitment and legal migration procedures. Ensuring fair recruitment practices and working conditions remains a key priority. These measures are part of the Commission's broader proposal, which also includes a Regulation on the EU Talent Pool and a Council Recommendation on learning mobility frameworks.
