Hungary’s updated tourism strategy, "Turizmus 2.0," addresses the impacts of recent global disruptions, including the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine conflict. This supplement to the National Tourism Development Strategy 2030 emphasizes adapting to new challenges by enhancing sustainability and resilience within the tourism sector. The document focuses on improving energy efficiency, supporting local products and services, and boosting the overall resilience of the industry in response to changing conditions.
The updated strategy continues to pursue the original goals set for 2030, with a reinforced focus on sustainability and digital transformation. Key areas include developing certification systems for accommodations and attractions to ensure transparency and support strategic objectives. The document also highlights the need for revising tourism education and training to align with current and future labor market demands, reflecting Hungary’s commitment to a green and digitally advanced tourism sector.
