The BorderLabs CE project (Participatory Cross-Border Governance for Transition Management in Central European Cross-Border Regions), co-funded by the European Union through the Interreg CENTRAL EUROPE Programme, is designed to enhance cross-border cooperation and regional development across Central Europe.
Led by the Saxon State Ministry for Regional Development (Germany), the initiative brings together nine partners from six countries to collaboratively design and test innovative governance models. These models aim to support integrated cross-border strategy development, with a particular focus on areas such as sustainable tourism, local product marketing, and the reduction of border-related obstacles.
Running from June 2024 to November 2026, the project seeks to deliver several key outcomes, including:
- A cross-border cooperation charter
- A multimedia learning platform
- Pilot actions
- New governance models and solutions
