The CHERRY project, funded by Interreg Europe, will run from March 1, 2023, to May 31, 2027. Its goal is to turn culture into a vital tool for Europe's post-COVID-19 recovery. The project targets the cultural and creative industries (CCIs), which were among the hardest hit by the pandemic due to lockdowns and social distancing measures. CHERRY brings together public institutions from Italy, Greece, Hungary, Romania, Belgium, France, Latvia, and Finland to improve policies and local plans for CCIs, turning pandemic restrictions into opportunities through innovative communication, digital technologies, and services. By focusing on urban transformation, entrepreneurship, and the valorization of natural and cultural heritage assets, CHERRY seeks to enhance the resilience and further development of CCIs, making culture central to the EU's recovery efforts.
