The LiveAlpsNature project, funded by the Interreg Alpine Space Programme, seeks to enhance biodiversity protection in Alpine Protected Areas through responsible visitor management and digital outreach. Running from 2024 to 2027, this initiative includes partners from France, Austria, Italy, Slovenia, Switzerland, and Germany. It tackles the issues of overcrowding and tourism's impact on delicate ecosystems, which can result in habitat destruction and biodiversity loss. The project aims to create guidelines, roadmaps, pilot actions, and digital tools for managing Alpine Protected Areas and tourism, with a focus on biodiversity impact, innovative visitor experiences, integrated information systems, and visitor management. These outcomes are currently in development. For more details and updates, follow the attached link.
