The NetZeroCities project, running from 2021 to 2025, is designed to help European cities achieve climate neutrality by 2030. It equips cities with the necessary tools, resources, and expertise to overcome structural, institutional, and cultural challenges to climate action. As part of the Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation Programme, it contributes to the EU’s "100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030" initiative. Through a service-oriented platform, NetZeroCities provides tailored support, pilot projects, and a Twinning Learning programme to encourage peer learning and collaboration. The project also highlights the critical role of citizen engagement and co-creation in developing sustainable urban solutions.
