The ReBoat project, running from January, 2025, to June, 2028, aims to address the waste generated by high-season tourism on islands by developing a mobile, modular recycling plant on a boat. This plant will transform local plastic and textile waste into new products, benefiting island residents, tourists, and local artisans. Pilots will be conducted on the Eolian, Ionian, and Azores islands, involving collaborative digital tools and events to engage the community. The project, involving 15 partners from 7 EU member states, will also create new tourism packages to promote sustainable holidays and study the replicability of the solution.
