Launched in March 2024, the EU-funded TCLF SkillBridge project supports Europe’s Textile, Clothing, Leather and Footwear (TCLF) industries in addressing critical skills challenges and aligning efforts with the TCLF Pact for Skills. The initiative focuses on the creation of regional skills partnerships and the delivery of opportunities for stakeholders and SMEs to enhance TCLF workforce readiness for the green and digital transformations and strengthen the sector’s adaptability and competitiveness.

Led by EURATEX, CEC, and COTANCE, and funded by the European Commision's DG GROW, under the Single Market Programme, TCLF SkillBridge is designed to support stakeholder collaboration at regional and local levels in order to tackle skills challenges faced by the TCLF sectors. In coordination with the ERASMUS+ projects AEQUALIS4TCLF and METASKILLS4TCLF, the initiative contributes to the objectives of the TCLF Pact for Skills. Together, these initiatives aim to equip the workforce with the skills needed for the sustainable and digital transitions, ensuring long-term resilience and growth of EU TCLF industries.
The project seeks to establish at least eight Regional Skills Partnerships (RSPs), selected from a pool of 25 regions with strong TCLF presence across the European Union. These partnerships bring together industry representatives, education and training providers, and public authorities to co-develop work programmes that reflect regional priorities and skills needs.
A set of targeted services supports the creation and success of these partnerships:
Regional workshops help stakeholders establish governance frameworks, define work programmes and draft Regional Skills Partnership agreements, complemented by the support of a dedicated toolkit.
National Networking Events connect stakeholders from existing and potential RSPs in each target country, enabling knowledge sharing and exchange of best practices.
Mobility exchanges for stakeholders give direct insights into effective partnership practices through on-site peer learning.
A Call for Services to deliver customised skills-related support, such as trainings, coaching and mentoring, to SMEs in the TCLF sectors.
Through these actions, TCLF SkillBridge aims to strengthen regional cooperation and enhance the sectors’ capacity to adapt to evolving labour market demands.
