The EU WeMED_NaTOUR initiative, running from July 1, 2022, to October 31, 2024, aims to create sustainable and responsible ecotourism packages in line with the blue economy strategy for the Mediterranean region. Supported by EMFAF, this project seeks to foster sustainable tourism, safeguard natural and cultural heritage, and boost the competitiveness of the tourism sector in Italy, Spain, Portugal, Belgium and Mauritania. It emphasizes the unique value of these regions to a wider audience, particularly targeting young people aged 6-16. Key achievements include the development of eco-smart tourism packages, a Capacity Building Programme offering courses for tourism SMEs in the Western Mediterranean, educational resources for schools, and enhanced international cooperation. For a detailed overview of all project outcomes, please refer to the attached link.
