Flaviano Zandonai is the Open Innovation Manager of the National Consortium CGM, one of the most historic and important social enterprise networks in Italy. In the past, he has collaborated with research institutions that have contributed to analysing the characteristics and evolution of social enterprises and social economy.
Today, he promotes and manages open innovation programs for social enterprises. They operate in two directions. The first aims to promote matching and partnerships between these enterprises and technological innovation ecosystems (startups, technology providers, incubators, accelerators, etc.). The second tries to promote the role of social enterprises as change makers in the value chains of corporate enterprises, for example through social procurement and non-financial reporting initiatives. All this strengthens the strategic and operational capacity of social enterprises and thus makes social, environmental and technological transitions more effective and fairer.
“With all this in mind the Proximity and Social Economy Platform plays a decisive role. It is a promising space for open innovation to be supported and where many social enterprises can generate positive and durable impact."
