The EU Proximity and Social Economy Platform has outgrown its ecosystem and is to become a cross-cutting theme in Tourism, Retail, Textiles and other communities within a wider Stakeholders Support Platform. This space will no longer be updated, but existing content will remain accessible to all users. Depending on your focus, there is now not one but six vibrant communities, which are increasingly embedding proximity and social economy values - backed up by the Social Economy Gateway as an additional resource.

As content and discussions linked to proximity and social economy have been gaining prominence through the six other ecosystems as a cross-cutting issue, starting 17 October 2025, the EU Proximity and Social Economy Platform will no longer be updated. However, all existing content will remain accessible to visitors. This transition reflects the evolving nature of the Stakeholders Support Platform. As a result, new content submissions from members will no longer be reviewed or published. However, the platform will remain online as a content repository, but it will not host new activities or be regularly updated.
All interested stakeholders are invited to the following active communities:
- EU Agri-food Platform
- EU Retail Platform
- EU Tourism Platform
- EU Textiles Ecosystem Platform
- EU Chemicals Platform
- EU Construction Platform
Through these and yet-to-come communities, the Stakeholders Support Platform will continue to support the proximity and social economy as a prominent theme, embedded in other sectors, as well as the Social Economy Gateway.
The European Commission warmly thanks all Ambassadors, members, and visitors for their contributions and engagement with the EU PSE Platform. Your efforts have helped shape a vibrant and resilient ecosystem, and we look forward to continuing this journey together through new channels.
