This NVIDIA report examines how retail and consumer packaged goods organisations are moving from experimentation to widespread deployment of AI. The survey shows that AI is now embedded across the value chain—from marketing and digital commerce to physical stores, back-office functions, and supply chain operations. Findings indicate that 91 percent of organisations are actively using or assessing AI, with 58 percent already deploying solutions at scale. Most respondents report clear benefits: 89 percent say AI has helped increase annual revenue, and 95 percent confirm it has decreased annual costs. AI is improving operational efficiency, customer experience, and employee productivity, while also reshaping strategic priorities.
The report highlights a strong rise in agentic AI, with organisations using AI agents that reason, plan, and execute complex tasks. It also shows growing interest in open-source models and tools, viewed as important for flexibility, customisation, and controlling long-term costs. Supply chain resilience is a major theme, with 91 percent stating that AI has reduced operational costs and many using AI for forecasting, optimisation, and real-time decision support. At the same time, organisations face challenges, particularly a lack of AI talent and the need to optimise inference to support large-scale production workloads.
