The Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth, Tillväxtverket, requested that Sweco deliver a study in 2023 titled "Matching between Education and Employment in the Tourism Industry." This study, which involved interviewing people in December 2022, aims to determine the reasons behind people who leave the hotel and restaurant industry to work in other fields. The report emphasises the need for improved alignment between education and industry demands, as well as problems pertaining to the work environment and career perspectives (The original piece available only in Swedish).
