Every year, Fashion Revolution brings together activists, designers, educators, brands and citizens to rethink the future of fashion. Born after the tragic collapse of the Rana Plaza Collapse, the movement has become one of the world’s most influential platforms advocating for transparency, ethical production and circular fashion systems.
For the 2026 edition, Fashion Revolution Week took place from April 22 to April 28 under the theme “Conscious Fashion is a Collective Mission.” The campaign emphasized collaboration, community action and collective responsibility across the fashion supply chain.
Across Europe, the initiative inspired a wide range of local projects, exhibitions, educational programs and public discussions. From Germany to France, from Denmark to Hungary, Fashion Revolution Week demonstrated how sustainability in fashion is increasingly becoming a cultural and political priority.

Germany: fashion activism meets public engagement
In Magdeburg, Fashion Revolution Week transformed the city into a hub for sustainable fashion culture. The local collective organized workshops, swap parties, cinema events and artistic installations to raise awareness about textile waste and overconsumption. One of the most striking initiatives was the installation “Fast Fashion: Irrwege der Mode” a labyrinth made from approximately 1600 garments symbolizing the enormous quantity of clothing discarded every year in Germany.
Meanwhile, in Heidelberg, the Fashion Revolution Weeks involved nearly 40 organizations working together on educational activities focused on upcycling, zero waste and sustainable wardrobes. Public libraries, cultural institutions and local associations collaborated to engage citizens in conversations about responsible consumption and social justice within the textile industry.

France: institutional support for sustainable fashion
In France, Fashion Revolution Week received support from public institutions and environmental organizations. The French Ministry for Ecological Transition promoted the campaign as an educational opportunity to discuss textile waste, circular economy models and sustainable consumption habits. Workshops, conferences and clothing exchange events were organized throughout the country to encourage consumers to buy less and buy better.

Hungary and Central Europe: community-based slow fashion
In Budapest, the initiative “Fashion Revolution Week at REPLACC” promoted slow fashion through pop-up events, storytelling campaigns and workshops with sustainability experts. The project encouraged consumers to rethink their relationship with clothing and support local circular fashion practices.
Similarly, universities and student organizations across Europe participated actively in the movement. In Leuven, students and sustainability experts gathered for open discussions on collective action, ethical fashion and the future of the industry.

Fashion Revolution and the circular future of fashion
Across Europe, Fashion Revolution Week is evolving into more than an annual awareness event. It has become a platform for collective experimentation, where fashion is reimagined not only as an industry, but as a social, cultural and environmental responsibility.
