The industry comprises almost 200,000 companies, employs approximately 1.3 million people, and generates a turnover of €170 billion (in Europe).

Strategic Focus

EURATEX supports the transformation of the industry through four key pillars:

  • Competitiveness: Advocating for policies that support fair competition, reduce regulatory burdens, and promote industrial excellence.

  • Sustainability: Leading initiatives to transition the industry toward circularity, including the creation of textile recycling hubs and improved waste management systems.

  • Innovation & Skills: Driving research, innovation, and up/reskilling programs to future-proof the workforce and support the green and digital transitions.

  • Trade & Market Access: Facilitating access to global markets while ensuring EU producers are protected against unfair practices.

Key Initiatives

As part of its core activity, EURATEX coordinates and supports numerous EU-funded projects and strategic partnerships:

  • RegioGreenTex: Strengthens regional cooperation between SMEs, academia, and authorities to accelerate innovation and sustainability in textiles.

  • StitchTogether: Enhances social dialogue and cooperation between employers and workers in the textile and clothing sector.

  • TCLF Skills Alliance: European partnership under the Pact for Skills, aimed at up/reskilling the TCLF workforce, while aligning training with industry needs

The textile and fashion products made in the EU are exceptional in regards to the respect of environment, consumer safety and labour rights. EURATEX will strive to protect and support these fundamental pillars.
