The funding opportunity by Horizon Europe focuses on accelerating the discovery and development of innovative chemicals and advanced materials by integrating digital technologies and artificial intelligence (AI) into research and production processes. It forms part of the EU’s efforts to strengthen industrial innovation and reduce development timelines in materials science.
Funded under Horizon Europe Cluster 4 (Digital, Industry and Space), the call targets collaborative projects that bring together industry, research organisations, universities and SMEs. Supported activities include the development of digital design tools, AI based modelling, simulation and testing approaches that improve efficiency, performance and risk assessment in materials and chemicals development.
The call is designed as an innovation action and supports solutions that contribute to Europe’s sustainable competitiveness and technological leadership. The submission deadline is 21 April 2026 (17:00:00 Brussels time); proposals are expected to demonstrate how digitalisation and AI can enable faster pathways from research to industrial application.
Full details are available on the EU Funding & Tenders Portal.
