The European Circular Economy Stakeholder Platform (ECESP) is an EU-wide initiative jointly managed by the European Commission and the European Economic and Social Committee (EESC). It serves as a network of networks that brings together stakeholders across civil society, business, public authorities and research to support the transition to a circular economy in Europe.
As a network of networks, the platform provides a space for knowledge exchange, policy dialogue and shared learning across national, regional and local levels. It enables stakeholders to disseminate good practices, strategies and voluntary commitments, participate in themed dialogues, and access a broad range of content including events, toolkits, financing information and educational resources via its open online hub. The platform does not itself provide funding but acts as a central repository and coordination space to connect actors and scale effective circular solutions.
The ECESP is organised into governance and coordination structures that support its activities: a Steering Group takes policy decisions, while a Coordination Group implements, plans, and acts as ambassadors for circular economy interaction among stakeholders. By bridging horizontal networks and highlighting cross-sector opportunities, the platform supports more cohesive implementation of circular economy measures across sectors and geographies.
