The third edition of Milano Circolare, co-organised by the City of Milan and MUSA Spoke 5, will take place at BASE Milano on 3 November 2025. The event will focus on how research and innovation can accelerate the transition toward a circular urban economy, with a special emphasis on the fashion and design sectors.
Building on the work carried out within the MUSA (Multilayered Urban Sustainability Action) project, this year’s edition will serve as the final event of MUSA Spoke 5, highlighting results, collaborations, and future opportunities for engagement with the project’s ecosystem.

The programme features a full day of talks, pilot project showcases, and networking opportunities. Representatives from Politecnico di Milano, Università Bocconi, Università degli Studi di Milano, and Università di Milano-Bicocca will present research outcomes and innovations co-developed with companies active in sustainable fashion, design, and materials.
Among the highlights will be presentations of pilot projects such as DuckCare, Dalla Moda al Design, Memora, Una moda che fa bene, Ciccone and Biblioteca degli Oggetti, concrete examples of how research and business can join forces to foster circularity.
Participants will also be introduced to two digital tools supporting sustainable transition: the MUSA NEXT App, designed to connect research, citizens and enterprises, and Su.Re., a digital hub for sustainable retail.

In addition to the main stage sessions, the event will include matchmaking and networking activities moderated by MUSA Spoke 5 researchers, as well as an exhibition area where companies and start-ups, including Save The Duck, Humana People to People, Krill Design, Superforma, and others, will display innovations developed in collaboration with the MUSA team.
The day will close with the presentation of ideathons carried out in Milan, where students from leading universities presented their ideas to transform Milan into the European capital of circular fashion and design.

Through Milano Circolare 2025, MUSA Spoke 5 and the City of Milan aim to strengthen the link between academic research, industry, and public institutions, promoting Milan as a living lab for sustainable innovation.
