The European Commission has relaunched the EU Ecolabel Product Catalogue (ECAT), giving consumers, businesses, retailers and procurers instant access to officially certified goods and services that meet strict environmental criteria.
The catalogue now includes over 100,000 certified goods and services from more than 3,000 companies across Europe. It lets users filter by category or country, search by product or company name, and verify licence numbers. Retailers can use the open Application Programming Interfaces (API), and public data tools so their listings match the catalogue. Public procurers can use the tool for sustainable procurement.
The revamped platform also aims to combat greenwashing by showing only genuinely certified products, and helps consumers make confident, sustainable choices whether shopping online or in stores.
To explore the catalogue or verify EU Ecolabel products, visit the European Commission’s website.
