As part of the SOLSTICE pilot activities in Prato, the Comune di Prato collaborated with BettaKnit and The Loom Movement Factory to organise “Intrecci di energia”, an event combining meditation and hands on textile activities. Held within the broader framework of the SOLSTICE project, the initiative aimed to explore how creative and community-based textile practices can contribute to social engagement, wellbeing, and more sustainable local ecosystems. The event reflects the wider objectives of the SOLSTICE project, which supports circular and inclusive approaches across participating territories in Europe.
The session began with a guided meditation activity before participants took part in a collaborative yarn-based workshop designed to encourage focus, creativity, and interaction through simple textile-making practices. By combining mindfulness with practical engagement in textile crafts, the initiative highlighted the role of local communities and creative approaches in supporting more inclusive and human-centred sustainability transitions. The event also demonstrated how pilot territories such as Prato are experimenting with participatory formats that connect circular economy objectives with social and cultural dimensions.
The initiative highlighted how textile-related community activities can support broader discussions around sustainability, wellbeing, and social participation within local circular economy transitions.
