CNA Federmoda continues to place sustainability at the core of its policies and activities, offering concrete support to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (mSMEs) in the fashion sector to help them adapt to both European and national sustainability regulations. Through a combination of national coordination and extensive local outreach, CNA Federmoda supports the transition toward a sustainable, circular, and inclusive textile ecosystem.

 

1. Training – Building Skills for Sustainability CNA Federmoda is actively supporting SMEs across Italy to acquire the technical and regulatory skills needed to adapt to evolving EU and national sustainability frameworks:

  • Tailored training sessions for SMEs delivered in 2024–2025 in Ravenna, Genova, Formia and other regional hubs;
  • Continuous capacity building on:

    – Circular business models;

    – Eco-design and material selection;

    – Supply chain transparency and traceability; 

  • Workshops at national and regional level led by in-house experts and sustainability consultants.

 

2. Events – Engaging the Fashion Ecosystem CNA Federmoda organises and participates in high-impact public and sectoral events to promote sustainability culture and stakeholder collaboration:

  • “The Future of Fashion and Fashion for the Future” – CNA Faenza (April 2024). Dialogue on evolving consumer habits and production models aligned with the EU Textile Strategy;
  • VIII Edition of “Made in Italy: Economic, Social, and Ethical Value” – Formia (9–10 May 2025). Institutional roundtables and regional coordination on sustainable value creation;
  • “Benvenuti in Atelier”. Public engagement initiative celebrating Made in Italy, with artisan workshops open to the public (editions in 2024 & 2025);
  • Fashion dialogues in Cremona, Genova, and Formia-Gaeta throughout 2024– 2025

 

3. Guidance & Dissemination – Supporting the Transition CNA Federmoda acts as a national guide for sustainable transformation, supporting companies and communities in embracing circularity and compliance.

  • “Sustainability Infopoint” – Milano Fashion & Jewels (February 2024 edition) Practical guidance for SMEs on legal obligations, eco-innovation, and sustainable sourcing;
  • Follow-up and dissemination of “Putting Best Practices into Practice” (2023 project):

    – 19 February 2025 – Cassino University, during “Mi illumino di meno”, screening and discussion of case study videos;

    – 28 April 2025 – Formia (Istituto Dante Alighieri): Intergenerational conference “Environment and Sustainability – Toward a Dialogue” aimed at raising awareness in younger generations;

  • Participation in national and regional networks to channel best practices into policy and local implementation.
