COTANCE pledges to ensure that leather, a naturally bio-based, circular, and biodegradable material, is fully recognised within the EU’s upcoming Bioeconomy Strategy, Circular Economy Act, and EU Green Industrial Deal legislation. COTANCE will continue advocating for EU policymakers to acknowledge and incentivise the use of animal by-products in Europe’s bioeconomy and circular policies. COTANCE will promote leather as a natural, bio-based material, ensuring its explicit recognition in at least two EU legislative files related to the bioeconomy and circular economy by 2026.
