The first edition of Responsible Fashion Fortnight took place in 2024 in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, attracting over 5,000 participants—including industry professionals and the general public—who came together to raise awareness about sustainable fashion and promote practices that benefit both people and the planet. The event featured runway shows by local designers committed to ethical practices, pop-up stores, conferences, educational workshops on responsible consumption, and innovative solutions to reduce the textile industry’s environmental footprint, making it a resounding success.
Building on this momentum, the 2025 edition of the Responsible Fashion Fortnight ran from 6 to 19 October and showcased initiatives supporting a more environmentally responsible textile sector. The scale of the event grew significantly: 33 events were held across the region, up from 15 in 2024, attracting 11,300 attendees compared to 5,000 the previous year. Activities included pop-up shops, professional meetings, workshops, conferences, company open days, clothing collection drives, fashion shows, exhibitions, festive events, school mediation activities, and material libraries. The Region supported the initiative with a €7,000 communication plan and €60,000 in funding for various events.
The Responsible Fashion Fortnight is set to return in 2026.
