The award is presented under the Accessible Festivals Programme, a joint initiative of Turismo de Portugal and the National Institute for Rehabilitation, designed to recognise cultural events that offer equal conditions of comfort, safety and independence to all attendees regardless of disability. A jury made up of representatives from Turismo de Portugal, the National Institute for Rehabilitation, the Directorate-General for the Arts, the Institute of Cinema and Audiovisual, and the Portuguese Association of Music Festivals selected MEO Kalorama for the innovation and breadth of the accessibility measures implemented at its 2025 edition, held from 19 to 21 June at Parque da Bela Vista, while encouraging the organiser to keep improving accessibility for future editions. The award diploma was presented on 26 February 2026 during the Lisbon Tourism Exchange (BTL).
