Tourism indicators reveal that in 2023, Sweden’s hotel occupancy rate was 40.6%, slightly below 2019 levels, with peaks in July and lows in January.

The latest figures from the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth indicate that in 2023, the occupancy rate stood at 40.6%, which is slightly lower than the 41.5% recorded in 2019, suggesting that the hotel industry has not yet fully bounced back to pre-pandemic levels in terms of bed usage and demand. In 2023, the occupancy rate peaked in July at 62.4% and dipped to its lowest in January at 31.5%. Interestingly, these months also marked the highest and lowest occupancy rates in 2019, suggesting a consistent pattern in tourist visits to the country.
