According to the EU Tourism Dashboard, the quality of bathing waters in EU destinations slightly decreased from 85.5% recorded in 2019 to 85.1% in 2022.  Among EU countries, Cyprus had the highest indicator value (100%), followed by Greece (98.7%) and Austria (97.3%). These countries demonstrated the absence of significant pollutants in fresh and coastal waters. On the other hand, Slovakia, Estonia, Hungary, and Poland had the lowest values (65.5%, 67.7%, 71.0%, and 71.8%, respectively), indicating poorer water quality in their tourism destinations.
